Results of Today's 3-Yr. T-Note Auction   - May. 11, 2004


Earlier today, the Treasury auctioned $24.0 billion of three-year notes. The issue was sold at a market-clearing yield of 3.199%, and the auction had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.08. By comparison, the three-year note sold in the February refunding went off at a market-clearing yield of 2.330%, with a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.27.

Total competitive and noncompetitive tenders today were $49.978 billion, excluding an allotment of $3.562 billion to the Federal Reserve System. Additional details are contained in the tables below.

To conclude its May refunding operation, the Treasury will auction $15.0 billion of five-year notes tomorrow, and $15.0 billion of 10-year notes on Thursday.
