| A Very Brief Stock Update - Sep. 2, 2004 |
|
Scheduled for sometime next week (per the recent "Coming Attractions" piece) is a more detailed look at the financial markets. But here is a little food for thought for over the long weekend.
There are plenty of times when I and lots of other analysts wish the stock market were far more a science than an art. In reality, though, making decent stock-market predictions is much more an art than most people realize. Therefore, you must often augment your analysis with nothing more than pure, gut hunches. And the market's behavior of the last two to three weeks is increasingly driving me to a fairly emphatic one.
To wit: For those folks who fear the seasonal problems frequently associated with the months of September and October, this year's September and October may very well turn out to justify that fear!
