Summary

Earlier today, the Labor Department reported that import prices fell 0.5% during February, in line with expectations.
_____

Aided by a 0.7% drop in the price of petroleum goods, import prices for all commodities were reported by the Labor Department to have fallen 0.5% during February. For the 12 months ended February, import prices stood 7.4% higher than a year earlier.

I'll have further details on these figures tomorrow, as part of my missive on February consumer prices. The Labor Department is scheduled to release these results tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM ET.
